Health care for hispanics is not the same that the one for those who are not hispanics. According to a recent study by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, minorities are less likely than predominant groups to receive health services. The study found evidence that stereotyping, biases, and uncertainty on behalf of health care providers, can contribute to the unequal treatment and health disparities. Cultural bias can affect clinical decision making including clinically necessary procedures.
